What is the GoBox?
The Co-Op GoBox contains fully customizable locally-sourced common grocery and non-perishable pantry items available via online purchase with pick up in West Chester borough. NEW! We are now open for in-store shopping twice a week! Hours may change so check our website for current hours.
Why is the Co-op creating a GoBox?
Part of the mission of the West Chester Cooperative is to promote the well-being of the residents of West Chester by improving access to sustainably produced food, supporting local farms and producers, and strengthening our community through cooperative enterprise. The GoBox will contain a sample of items that you might find in our store! In this unprecedented time, we want to create an accessible, low-contact option for local food for our community. We also have an opportunity to lease a store-front space that provides a physical location which will make staging, storing and pick-up a breeze!
What kind of items are in the GoBox?
Create your own fully customized GoBox filled with available items each week, like dairy, pantry staples, prepared meals, snacks, coffee, beverages and more. New items will continuously be added to the site.
How do I order a GoBox?
To order and fill your GoBox, click on the items you wish to purchase. You can read more about each product or click Add To Cart to select an item for your GoBox. Once you've filled your GoBox, click on the shopping cart to check out and pay for your order.
How often can I order a GoBox?
You can shop weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, it's up to you! There is no subscription.
When are pick-up days/times?
Every Tuesday, between 3-6 pm (certain black-out days will apply). Remember to select a pick-up time when completing your order! Pick-up times are in 15 minute increments to help with traffic flow.
When is the order deadline?
Place your order by Thursdays at 12 pm for pick-up the following Tuesday, between 3-6 pm. The store will "close" at 12 pm Thursday thru Saturday morning.
When can I place my order?
The store is open for orders Saturday thru Thursday at 12pm. We close the store to allow us time to restock items, add new items, and prepare new vendor orders.
How do I pick-up my order?
We will be offering curbside pick-up at this time. The loading zone is in front of 142 East Market street; safely pull over in front of the building, and we will load your order into your car. There will be a "CURB SIDE PICK-UP" sign at the spot.
If there is not a spot to safely pull over, turn right on Matlack Street where there are a few parking spaces. Text 610-732-8247 with your full name, and we will bring your order to you.
What if I am a CSA subscriber?
Your CSA order will be brought to your car along with your GoBox order!
What if there is a problem with my order?
If there are any discrepancies with your order please reach out to us ASAP: info@westchester.coop.
What if I can't pick-up my order on pick-up day?
We know that emergencies may arise. If you are unable to pick-up your GoBox please email us ASAP at info@westchester.coop.
Unclaimed boxes, without prior arrangements, will be donated.
How will the GoBox help to open a Co-op grocery store?
Our GOAL is to open a grocery store in West Chester, and we have been working towards this goal for some time. The GoBox is the first step in introducing the Co-op’s vision to the community and beyond.
A store-front location in a high-traffic area of downtown West Chester allows the Co-op’s vision of this grocery to have greater visibility in the community and build our member-owner base. Reaching our Member-Ownership goal will allow us to OPEN the store!
